Consider again when Thomas Telford was commissioned to design and supervise the building of the so-called ‘Parliamentary Church’ on Berneray, little did he realise that it would continue for so long in the ecclesiastical sense and then migrate, in architectural terms, to becoming a house and studio that has been nationally acclaimed. The architects, Patience and Highmore, are proud to present it in their portfolio of buildings and there is the link on their website to a Channel 4 programme that’s still apparently available. It was certainly there on 20 May when last featured on this blog. Here is a restoration scheme with a difference.
