Berneray, like the other two Gatliff hostels, has its special attractions and here are kayakers enjoying themselves. So whether hill-walking attracts people to Rhenigidale; beach-combing to Howmore, self-propelled crossings through the Sound of Harris to Berneray, then there are individuals ready to share their enthusiasms. Some things are certain – the demands of outdoor activities encourage appetites and the hostels’ kitchen arrangements can be utilised effectively.
