He is dressed for the occasion and is facing in the direction of what is compelling &#8211; the hills of Harris in the distance. The photographs of<strong> Berneray<\/strong> taken 50 years earlier &#8211; in 1963 \u00a0&#8211; and reproduced here by <a title=\"Berneray in 2013\" href=\"http:\/\/www.francisfrith.com\/berneray\/photos\/#utmcsr=google.co.uk&amp;utmcmd=referral&amp;utmccn=google.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Francis Frith<\/strong><\/a> are of landscape and profiles of land as well as sea. The former image appeals to the traveller; the latter gallery to the geographer. They are worth a compare and contrast.
