The book contains a biography, some examples of his writing and several reminiscences from those who knew him.<\/p>\n<p>Len Clark reached the age of 100 in 2016 and he created this book when he was 79. \u00a0The booklet has been available from the Gatliff Trust, but it has not been widely advertised. \u00a0The book provides a full insight into the founder of the hostels in the Hebrides.<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate Len Clark&#8217;s 100th birthday it is hoped that by putting the book on-line and available for download Len&#8217;s work may reach a wider audience.<\/p>\n<p><em>Herbert Gatliff &#8211; an English Eccentric<\/em> is available to download in <a href=\"http:\/\/gatliff.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Herbert-Gatliff-book.pdf\">a PDF format for reading on tablets and smart phones.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The text can also be viewed in a series of <a title=\"Herbert Gatliff \u2013 an English Eccentric by Len Clark\" href=\"http:\/\/gatliff.org.uk\/?page_id=3128\">webpages.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For the Winter 2015\/2016 issue of the magazine of the Mountain Bothies Association Richard Genner wrote an article entitled\u00a0<em>Schools Hebridean Society: Herbert Gatliff&#8217;s Connection to Cruib Lodge. <\/em>Cruib Lodge is located on the Isle of Jura.
