The Gatliff Hebridean Hostels Trust was set up by the Gatliff Trust in 1988 to look after the Gatliff or Crofters\u2019 hostels.\u00a0 The first Gatliff Hostel was the hostel at Rhenigidale.\u00a0 It was set up by the Gatliff Trust in 1962.\u00a0 Until July 2024.\u00a0 The Gatliff Trust had a controlling interest in the Gatliff Hebridean Hostels Trust. This is sometimes referred to as the Gatliff Trust being the parent body of the Gatliff Hebridean Hostels Trust.\u00a0 However, with the consent of the Gatliff Trust, the Gatliff Hebridean Hostels Trust changed its constitution in July 2024.\u00a0 As a result the Gatliff Hebridean Hostels Trusts now operates independently of the Gatliff Trust.<\/p>\n
A copy of the Articles of Association adopted on 6th<\/sup> July 2024 can very downloaded HERE<\/a><\/p>\n The Gatliff Hebridean Hostels Trust can operate on any island off the west coast of Scotland.<\/p>\n The Gatliff Hebridean Hostels Trust is dedicated to running Berneray, Howmore and Rhenigidale hostels, in partnership with islanders, to a sound basic standard.\u00a0 Its goal is to provide hostellers, including young people of limited means, with the opportunity to stay a while to get to know, & maybe come to love, the unique culture & natural environment of the islands.
