During February and March, the future of Scottish Islands Explorer magazine was in jeopardy following the sudden and unexpected death of its Editor, Jeremy Smith, aged only 35. A new company, Ravenspoint Press Ltd, has been established to continue to publish the existing title. The new Editor is a regular contributor to the magazine, John Humphries, who has also edited the newsletter of the Gatliff Hebridean Hostels Trust, Hebridean Hostellers, since 2002.
